Neighborhood Captains

Become a Harrison Katz Neighborhood Captain

What is a Neighborhood Captain?

A Neighborhood Captain is a  volunteer who serves as a representative for the campaign for in the neighborhood they live in, spreading Harrison's vision for Santa Clarita to their neighbors.

What does a Neighborhood Captain do?

Neighborhood Captains organize their neighbors for Harrison for Santa Clarita by:

Talking to their neighbors about Harrison. The campaign will provide literature, walk and phone lists of voters in the area and reinforcements in the way of walkers to help reach more neighbors.

Organize a neighborhood event for the campaign. The campaign staff will pair up and assist Neighborhood Captains to organize an event in their community. These events can range from house parties, neighborhood teas, BBQ's, community service projects, or any event that gathers neighbors to hear about Harrison's vision for new leadership for our city.

Provide on the ground feedback. Each Neighborhood Captain will have a direct line to the campaign to provide real-time reports on what is going on in their neighborhood and to request resources in terms of literature, voter registration forms, and volunteer reinforcements. They will also work with campaign staff to maximize their efforts by designing a personalized outreach plan for their area.

How much time does a Neighborhood Captain need to commit to?

That's completely up to you!  Some may be able to help the campaign for few days each week, for some only for a couple of hours each weekend. What a lot of successful volunteers do is team up with a few of their neighbors to form a Neighborhood Leadership Committee and work together to spread the campaign's message in their community. No matter the schedule, the campaign will work with our Captains to maximize their efforts.
