Like thousands of young people, I’m concerned about my future here. Too many people my age are leaving Santa Clarita because they can’t find quality jobs. I’ll focus my efforts on training our workforce to compete in the 21st century economy, and then attracting industry and family wage jobs to the area.
Having grown up here, I’ve seen development sprout up all over our city hastily and without consideration of our long term interests. I pledge to be responsive to you and the community to ensure that new development is economically sound, and environmentally and socially responsible.
As a proud Santa Claritan, I'm dismayed that there are families in our city facing a long cold winter on the streets. I proudly serve as a Committee Member for the Santa Clarita Community Development Corporation (SCCDC), a privately funded organization that houses Santa Clarita's homeless and provide those less fortunate with the help they need to improve their individual or family circumstances. The City Council must actively work with private sector groups like SCCDC to ensure that our citizens are aware of the resources available to them at times of greatest need.
